Filipina Dating: General Tips
General Tips for Dating Filipinas and Visiting the Philippines
There are several reasons a guy may choose to visit here in the Philippines. One of the most common reasons is men who have used Filipina dating sites want to come to the country and meet the women they’ve been chatting with in person. I’d like to offer some practical suggestions for those who are interested in visiting, especially with the purpose of finding love.
Visa Issues
Getting a temporary visa into this country is no problem at all. You can just ask for a 21-29 day tourist visa while you are going through immigration. These are given to most travelers with no questions asked, so it is very easy.
But be sure to make arrangements if you decide to stay beyond three weeks. I’d highly recommend you work with an immigration agent because they can usually go to immigration for you and spare you some wasted time standing in long lines at the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (the one in Manila is quite chaotic). Some of the other regional offices are a little less hectic, but consulting with an agent is a good investment if you plan to stay a while.
Safety Issues
Some perceive the Philippines as a dangerous place to visit, but thousands of tourists and expats would disagree. There is no such thing as a completely safe place to visit, especially in Southeast Asia. But you can keep yourself safe as long as you follow some basic rules of common sense.
The greatest danger is some kind of petty theft, like someone trying to pick your pocket or steal something out of your bag. This is much more common that in other parts of the world. Foreigners are often targeted for this because they presumably have money. Always carry your wallet in your front pocket and always keep an eye on your belongings. Be careful about walking around with something valuable in your backpack—some thieves are experts at unzipping them without the pedestrian even being aware of it.
Major cities are generally safe as far as being free from any kind of terrorism. There’s always a chance you can get in a car accident, but that’s probably the most significant danger you’ll encounter. Robberies can be very common, so avoid going to unfamiliar places alone late at night (basic common sense).
There are some beautiful places to visit if you decide to visit the Philippines. The cities are usually crowded and polluted, but the scenery you can find outside the cities is truly breathtaking.
Fiancée and Spousal Visas
Lets say you meet a beautiful Filipina, fall in love, and decide you want to marry her. You have two options as far as bringing her back to your country: a spousal visa or a fiancée visa. The fiancée visa is much faster if you are trying to move her to the USA (it usually takes about six months). I would advise you to marry her in the States if you want her to be with you there as soon as possible. The spousal visa takes longer (usually almost a year), but she will be further along the immigration process once she arrives.
This is just a general overview in case you are thinking corresponding with or dating Filipina women.
